New Delhi: As both India and Australia gear up for the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, talks about Virat Kohli’s on-field form have become the talk of the town. Kohli has been experiencing a rough patch especially in the longest format of the game as the star batter has struggled to score runs this year. The star batter has only scored 250 runs in Tests this year.
Meanwhile, former Australian great Brett Lee has lavished praise on Virat Kohli’s mentality and never-say-die attitude, firmly believing in the fact that he will make a comeback in the upcoming Test series. Lee also said that Kohli has got an Australian mentality and does not mind getting into a scrap and does not mind having a crack.
Lee confident of Kohli’s comeback
Brett Lee further said that he’s not at all worried about Virat Kohli’s form as he’s confident of his experience and the fact that the star batter will certainly make a comeback. Lee further said that he may have only 90-plus runs in the three-match Test series against the New Zealand team but that should not matter when he comes to Australia because he has a great record.
“There has been a lot of speculation and conjecture around Kohli’s form, and I can promise you that when he gets out here, he will be raring to go, because he is a superstar,” Lee said.
In the recently-concluded home Test series against New Zealand, the seasoned batter could only score 90-plus runs in as many as six innings. Apart from Kohli’s form, India will also have to fix their middle order crises after Shubman Gill was ruled out of the first T20I. In absence of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah will take place as the captain of the Indian team.
