New Delhi: The IPL 2025 mega auction is scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The two-day auction is set to kick off at 3 PM (IST) on November 24. 1574 players registered for the mega auction but that list has been shortened by the franchises to 574 players (366 Indian and 208 overseas).
Likes of Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Jos Buttler, KL Rahul, Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rababa, Ishan Kishan and Ravichandran Ashwin are set to go under the hammer in the mega auction. The marquee players are separated into two groups of six each and they will go up first for the bidding.
The capped players will go up next and they will be divided into sets based on their specialisation and after that round of uncapped players will follow based on their specialisation. After player No. 116 (subject to timings), the mega auction will enter in the accelerated phase, covering all players from 117 to 574. After that, all the teams will be asked to submit their names of unsold players from the full list who will go up for bidding again in another accelerated round.
Remaining purse of all ten franchises
The 10 IPL franchises have a total purse of INR 120 crore to build their teams for the upcoming season but after the retentions, Punjab Kings (PBKS) have the biggest purse remaining (INR 110.5 crore) while Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have the second-biggest purse of INR 83 crore.
Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders have a remaining purse of INR 51 crore while Delhi Capitals have a remaining purse of INR 73 crore. Gujarat Titans have a remaining purse of INR 69 crore while Lucknow Super Giants have INR 69 crore in the purse heading into the mega auction.
Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have a purse of INR 55 crore and 45 crore respectively while Sunrisers Hyderabad have a remaining purse of (INR 45 crore) and Rajasthan Royals have INR 41 crore in their purse heading into the mega auction.
