New Delhi: Cristiano Ronaldo continues his brilliant form this season with yet another dominating performance for Al-Nassr. The 39-year-old has repeatedly turned up for the outfit and has scored consistently this season in particular, and has been one of the standout performer in both Saudi Pro League and AFC Champions League.
During Al-Nasrr’s outing last night against Al-Gharafa in the AFC Champions League Elite’s group stage game, Ronaldo’s brace helped the side clinch a 3-1 win. The win now has almost assured Al-Nassr a spot in the tournament’s knockout stages after being unbeaten in the competition for five games. They are now in second place in the 12-team table.
Earlier in the game, the Portuguese captain had missed two opportunities, with one being overturned by VAR and the other a missed chance from a free-kick. However, Ronaldo redeemed himself in the second half, scoring a minute after action resumed. Though Al Gharafa’s Joselu’s side did manage to score one late in the game, there was little hope of redemption, especially after Seydou Sano was booked for his second offence.

His brace only extends his lead as the highest goal-scorer ever, with his tally of goals now sitting at 913. For his Saudi Pro side, he has scored 18 times this season and made four assists. Ronaldo has only gotten better after a disappointing outing with Portugal during the Euros in the summer. He has taken his side to the UEFA Nations League knockout stage during November’s international break, where he had scored twice against Poland.
What has been astonishing is that his physical fitness has only gotten better in recent years. Since he turned 30, he has scored 450 goals, playing at the top level with big clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United. With the inevitable retirement looming, Ronaldo had earlier noted that he would like to hit a thousand goals before stepping away. His Monday evening display only improves his cause for this.
Cristiano Ronaldo now has 913 career goals, as he puts Al-Nassr on the brink of knockout qualification in the AFC Champions League. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
