New Delhi: As the chants of “Sacked in the morning, you’re getting sacked in the morning,” reverberated throughout Anfield in the 89th minute, Liverpool were getting closer to a victory that would put them 11 points ahead of title rivals Manchester City. Pep Guardiola, who has led City to six Premier League titles since taking over in 2016, was the target of these. Standing in his technical area, the City manager smiled in response before pulling his hands out of his pockets and raising one hand and one finger to show how many titles City had won under his leadership.
Guardiola later told Sky Sports, “I didn’t expect that at Anfield,” in response to the “sacked in the morning” chants. Furthermore, he also mentioned that he has tremendous amount of respect for Liverpool fans and this was just not expected from them, but he fully understands that it’s just part of the game.

For the first time since August 2008, City have managed to lose four consecutive Premier League games, finishing the weekend fifth in the standings behind Brighton, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool. They have also lost seven straight games in all competitions, which is unprecedented under Guardiola, who has given City so much happiness and success over the past eight years.
Pep Guardiola, who last month agreed to a new two-year contract extension, also mentioned that everyone wants City to sack him, and it started at Brighton on 9th November when the Sky Blues lost the game 2-1.
“Maybe they are right with the results we’ve been having.”
During his tenure at City, Guardiola has also won the Fifa Club World Cup, the Uefa Super Cup, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, and one Champions League. In front of City’s traveling supporters, Guardiola also performed the number six motion following the final whistle.
