Virat Kohli has struggled to score runs in the T20 World Cup and Team India batting coach Vikram Rathour said that he’s not happy and backed Virat to score more runs in the upcoming matches. “I’m not happy. I would love it if he gets going and scores more runs”.
Kohli had a sensational IPL 2024 with the bat for RCB while opening the innings, he scored 741 runs at an average of 61 in 15 matches. But the star Indian batter only managed to score 29 runs in the 4 matches for India.
He also added that it is good when a player is challenged. Rathour also praised the middle order and said that the guys who don’t get much batting in India, are the ones who score crucial runs and India’s middle order has done that which was good to see.
A reporter asked Rathour whether the team is looking to move Kohli back to the number 3 position, the Indian batting coach replied with a smile and said “You are not happy that he is opening now? I thought everyone wanted him to open”.
