Indian Navy to perform aerial manoeuvres and brave stunts in Puri on Navy Day 2024

Mumbai: The Indian Navy will host a grand Operational Demonstration at the iconic Blue Flag Beach in Puri, Odisha, on December 4, 2024, to commemorate Navy Day. The event is scheduled to start from 4 pm onwards. This significant occasion marks the anniversary of Operation Trident, a critical naval offensive during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, showcasing the Navy’s might and commitment to safeguarding India’s maritime interests.

Honourable President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will grace the event as the Chief Guest, with Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of Naval Staff, hosting the ceremony. This marks the first Navy Day celebration on the Odisha coast, a landmark moment emphasising the region’s maritime legacy.

This landmark Navy Day celebration in Puri will not only honour the naval forces’ legacy but also strengthen Odisha’s deep-rooted maritime heritage, leaving a lasting impression on all who witness it, both in person and through live streaming.

Spectacular naval displays and brave acts on Dec 4 in Odisha

The event will feature an impressive lineup of over 15 warships, submarines, and 40 aircraft, supported by elite Marine Commandos (MARCOS) and personnel from the Indian Army.

Key attractions include:

Aerial manoeuvres by MiG-29K and Hawk fighter jets.
Submarine operations, amphibious landings, and rocket firing from warships.
Combat exercises by MARCOS, showcasing their unparalleled skill and courage.

The celebration will also include traditional elements like the Beating Retreat Ceremony performed by the Eastern Naval Command Band, along with modern attractions such as a drone and laser show.

The Indian Navy is working closely with the Odisha state government and local authorities to ensure seamless coordination and public access.

Blue Flag Beach

To accommodate spectators, detailed traffic advisories and designated parking zones have been established. Visitors are urged to maintain cleanliness on the Blue Flag Beach, while flying drones, kites, or similar objects has been strictly prohibited to ensure safety.

The event aims to raise maritime awareness and spotlight Odisha’s seafaring heritage, underlining its historical significance as a coastal state with ancient trade routes.

For those unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live on national DD television, Doordarshan (DD),  and streamed via the Indian Navy’s official YouTube channel from 4 pm onwards on December 4, ensuring a broader reach.
