New Delhi: The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) action resumed on Tuesday as the tournament entered its third and final leg at the Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune. It started with the thrilling encounter between Benglauru Bulls and Gujarat Giants in the first match with both teams reeling at the bottom side of the points table.
After a thrilling encounter of 40 minutes, both the teams settled for a draw after the scores were locked at 34-34. The trio raiding trio of Nitin Rawal, Pardeep Narwal, and Sushil accumulated 20 points with Nitin top-scoring with seven points. Gujarat were leading for the most part of the game thanks to Rakesh’s unfazed show in the raid and defender Neeraj Kumar accounting for a high 5.
In the later of the match, which was dubbed as the ‘Maharashtra Derby’, Ajit Chauhan’s powerful performance steered the U Mumba to a comprehensive victory over hosts Puneri Paltan with the scoreline reading 43-29.
With this win, U Mumba have moved to the third place in the updated PKL points table, displacing Dabang Delhi KC at fourth spot. As a result, defending champions Puneri Paltan have slid one spot down the ladder from No.5 to No.6. Meanwhile, Gujarat Giants and Bengaluru Bulls will continue at the 10th and 12th position on the table after picking up three points each following their tie match.

U Mumba thump Puneri Paltan in Maharashtra Derby
Ajit Chauhan picked up 12 raid points to give U Mumba the upper hand in the Maharashtra Derby as the Mumbai outfit has now won 11 out of 24 matches against state rivals Puneri Paltan, who have won 10 matches in the contest with three matches ending in a draw.
Puneri Paltan were in the lead at 19-16 in the half-time courtesy of inflicting an All-Out on the opposition. Ajit cancelled the lead with a tremendous Super raid in the start of the second half before cashing on more points in his following raids to complete his Super 10. Puneri were All Out as U Mumba were in a commanding eight-point lead with 10 more minutes to tick off.
Manjeet then picked up the final ALL OUT of the match at the expensof Puneri Paltan, which all but sealed the fate of the game. Eventually, U Mumba walked off the mat with a resounding win in the derby.
