The reports further suggested that Kirsten submitted a strict report to the PCB after Pakistan’s loss to USA and arch-rivals India in the group stages of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. It happened to be the second successive ICC event after the ODI World Cup 2023 where Pakistan failed to move beyond the group stages under the captaincy of Babar.

The report also reveals that the star player was als0 unhappy with the PCB not trusting him anymore, even after reinstating him as skipper once.
