New Delhi: Bangladesh Women will square off with Ireland Women in the first T20I of the three-match series scheduled at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday. Ireland will aim to clinch the T20I affair as the hosts thrashed them 3-0 in the ODI series that preceded, asserting the home dominance and not giving them any chance to make a turnaround in the series.
Bangladesh won the first ODI clash with a margin of 154 runs followed by their five-wicket win in the second ODI and their seven-wicket victory in the third and final ODI. These ODIs took place in at the Mirpur Stadium in Dhaka and for the T20Is, the caravan has moved to Sylhet. Bangladesh Women are led by Nigar Sultana, also their wicketkeeper, while Ireland are led by Gaby Lewis in the series.
While it can be adjudged that Bangladesh have the upper hand in the T20I series as well, it remains to be seen if the Irish Women will weave some magic to turn their fate around and return home on a bright note, specially with a series win.
