New Delhi: Angelo Mathews joined legendary batter Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene in an elite list of Sri Lankan cricketers on Friday (December 6). The star all-rounder achieved this milestone on Day 2 of the second Test match against South Africa at St George’s Park in Gqeberha.
The 37-year-olf needed just 34 runs before the match to complete the milestone and he got there with ease. He made his international debut for Sri Lanka in 2009 and has made a big name for himself in Sri Lankan cricket. Many former and current Sri Lankan batters like Sanath Jayasuriya, Aravinda de Silva, Dinesh Chandimal and Dimuth Karunaratne are also on this list.

He has scored 5916 in 226 ODIs and 1416 runs in 90 T20I matches with the help of three hundreds and 40 half-centuries. He has also taken 204 wickets in international cricket.
