New Delhi: Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson is fit and will be available for their upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture against Girona tonight. Alisson has been sidelined since early October after sustaining a hamstring injury during an away game against Crystal Palace. Despite his absence, the Reds have maintained their strong form on the pitch.
Liverpool currently sit at the top of the Premier League standings, holding a four-point lead over Chelsea with a game in hand. During Alisson’s absence, Caoimhin Kelleher has stepped in and delivered commendable performances as the stand-in goalkeeper.
When asked during the pre-match press conference whether the Brazilian No. 1 is in contention to start, Slot replied, “Yes, he is.” The Liverpool manager also praised Kelleher’s contributions but expressed confidence that Alisson would deliver an even stronger performance upon his return.

Arne Slot and his team received an extra day off after their match against Everton was postponed due to a storm. Slot supported the decision to postpone the Merseyside derby, calling it a sensible move. He also indicated that he does not plan to rotate his squad significantly for the upcoming match.
Caoimhin Kelleher has played seven Premier League and three Champions League games since Alisson’s injury while Vitezslav Jaros featured in the Carabao Cup win against Brighton after replacing Alisson at Selhurst Park.
The Reds will be missing key first-team players for their fixture in Spain, as Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota, and Alexis Mac Allister did not travel with the squad. However, a familiar face, Alisson, has made the trip and could return to the starting lineup.
Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Champions League this season, having won all five of their matches so far. Slot highlighted his satisfaction with the goalkeeping options at his disposal stating that having two top-class goalkeepers like Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher is a luxury every manager would envy.
