New Delhi: The Indian pacers dominated the proceedings in the morning session on Day 2 of the ongoing 3rd Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane with Jasprit Bumrah leading the charge once again. Bumrah provided India with two quick breakthroughs as he sent Aussie openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney packing in consecutive overs.
While Bumrahwas at his lethal best with the ball, his bowling partner Mohammed Siraj was also charged up despite facing regular boos from the Aussie crowd at the Gabba. Siraj continued to face jeers from the home fans over his send-off to Travis Head in the last game but the pacer didn’t let any of the booing affect his game as he consistently bowled in the right areas to trouble the hosts.
Siraj was also involved in some antics during the morning session as he troubled Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne with the ball. The Indian pacer had an exchange with Labuschagne during one of his overs and went on to flip the bails at the striker’s end before the Australian batter swapped them again.
The incident happened during the 33rd over when Siraj walked up to Labushagne, who was at the striker’s end. The Indian pacer had a chat with the Aussie batter while flipping the bails. However, Labushcgane swapped them again after Siraj left. Siraj’s move though seemed to have worked as Labuschagne was dismissed by Nitish Reddy in the next over.

The bail swap ended up working in Siraj’s favour as Labuschagne couldn’t hold on for long after the incident. The Australian batter was dismissed by Reddy, who managed to induce an edge off the bat of the right-hander. Virat Kohli plucked a good catch at slips to ensure Labuschagne was dismissed cheaply on 12 after facing 55 deliveries as India bagged an important breakthrough in the game.
However, Australia managed to recover after Labuschagne’s dismissal as Travis Head and Steve Smith combined to share an unbeaten 29-run stand for the 4th wicket and help the hosts post 104/3 at the end of the first session on Day 2.
