New Delhi: On a historic day, the members of Parliament were against each other, but this time they were battling out on a cricket field. A Tuberculosis-awareness friendly match was being played between Rajya Sabha Chairman XI vs Lok Sabha Speaker XI at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on December 15, Sunday.
The former Minister of Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur was leading Lok Sabha Speaker XI, and the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju was leading the Rajya Sabha Chairman XI.
Lok Sabha XI won the toss and chose to bat first, they posted a huge total of 251 runs in 20 overs. Skipper Anurag Thakur made a blistering century as he scored unbeaten 111 runs in just 65 balls. Chandrashekhar Azad also made a great half-century, he scored 54 runs in 23 balls. In the bowling department, Kamlesg Paswan took three important wickets from Rajya Sabha XI.

In response, Rajya Sabha XI skipper Rijiju departs early as he was dismissed for just one run. Mohammad Azharuddin scored 74 runs in just 42 balls, apart from him no one supported him in the second innings and Lok Sabha XI defeated Rajya Sabha XI by 73 runs.
Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda won the best bowler award, while BJP MP Nishikant Dubey was awarded with best fielder award in the match. Manoj Tiwari also won the Super catch award. Union Minister Piyus Goel facilitated all the awards of the match.
