New Delhi: Indian women cricket team’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was named among the top three in the International Cricket Council’s ODI and T20 rankings that was released on Tuesday.
She surged three slots to be second in the ODI rankings while jumping a spot to third in the T20I list after impressive run with the bat against Australia and the West Indies.
The left hander scored 105 runs in the final match of India’s series against Australia in Perth and 54 in the opening game of their ongoing T20I series against the West Indies in Mumbai.
The top-order batter is the only Indian in the top 10 list as India captain Harmanpreet Kaur slipped down two slots to 13th. Their team-mate Jemimah Rodrigues moved six positions up to be at the 15th spot.
Harleen Deol also improved her position by nine slots to 64th while among the Indian bowlers, Deepti Sharma went down two places to five.
Seamer Arundhati Reddy leaped 48 places to 51st after taking four for 26 while pacer Renuka Thakur also improved in the rankings, going up by two slots to jointly hold the 26th place.
In T20Is, Kaur remains in the top 10 while Rodrigues surged by six slots to be at the 15th spot after scoring 73 against West Indies.
In the bowling rankings, Deepti improved by two spots to rise to the second position while Titas Sadhu is at the 52nd position.
West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin has jumped 21 spots to 59th while Qiana Joseph is 65th after a leap of 22 places. Karishma Ramharack is at 29th after a move up by six rungs.
Gardner moves up
England opener Tammy Beaumont has moved up by two positions to 11th after scoring an unbeaten 65 that helped them beat South Africa 2-1.
Ashleigh Gardner has improved by a spot to 16th with a 50-run knock in Perth while Tahlia McGrath has advanced from 32nd to 24th with an unbeaten 56-run knock.
Annabell Sutherland has taken a big leap of 15 places to be 29th after striking 110 runs. She is in the top 20 of the bowling rankings.
Gardner is also up two places to a career-best-equalling third position in the bowling rankings with a haul of five for 30 and has moved up from fourth to second in the all-rounders’ list.
