New Delhi: Abishek Porel lit up the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday with a sensational knock helping his team Bengal win the clash against Delhi. While chasing 273 runs, wicketkeeper Porel, who opened the innings, smashed an unbeaten knock of 170 runs in just 130 balls to help his team cross the finish line, as Bengal won the match by 6 wickets.
Enroute his blistering knock, he smashed 18 boundaries and 7 sixes, turning the spectators present at the stadium crazy. While he did the bulk of the scoring, tiny contributions from some other players was helpful in Bengal thrashing Delhi in their opening encounter. Anustup Majumdar and Sudip Kumar Gharami smashed 37 and 23 runs respectively to contribute to the cause.

Ishant Sharma bowls tidy spell
Delhi bowler Ishant Sharma bowled a neat and tidy spell showcasing his experience and class once again in the 50-over game but unfortunately went wicketless. Ishant, in his 7 overs, gave away just 27 runs, while skipper Ayush Badoni and Navdeep Saini claimed two and one wickets respectively. Batting first, Anuj Rawat and Himmat Singh played brilliant knocks of 79 and 60 to push their side to a total of 272/7 in the stipulated 50 overs.
Apart from these two players, Vaibhav Kandpal played an innings of 47 runs while skipper Badoni also chipped in with 41 runs to lift Delhi to a strong total. For Bengal, Mukesh Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets while Sayan Ghosh and Kaushik Maity claimed a wicket each. As Bengal completed their chase in 41.3 overs, Porel got the Man of the Match award for a stupendous knock.
