New Delhi: In a major boost for Team India ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, left-arm unorthodox spinner Kuldeep Yadav was captured bowling at the nets on Tuesday. After constant news about Kuldeep’s exclusion from India’s Champions Trophy squad due to a groin injury he suffered in Bengaluru, this comes as a good news.
Lately, Kuldeep has been instrumental for the Men in Blue at the big ICC events, with his last showpiece performance coming at the T20 World Cup 2024. The ace spinner claimed 10 wickets for India at the marquee event, emerging as one of the top bowlers for the side and playing a pivotal role in India winning the T20 World Cup.

Kuldeep suffers injury in New Zealand series
Kuldeep Yadav suffered the groin injury during the first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. During the entire game, he was feeling discomfort and after then culmination, the India player got a surgery done on the groin in Germany. Kuldeep then underwent rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence, mainly focusing on leg exercises and gradually building his strength.
Kuldeep’s performance has been a big boost for Indian across all the formats since a long time. The ace bowler has taken 172 wickets in 106 ODI matches for India. Meanwhile, after a lot of suspense and drama between the BCCI and PCB for months, a hybrid model was finalised for the Champions Trophy 2025, with India matches and the knockouts to be held at a neutral venue.
The venue, however, has not been decided but as per multiple media reports, Dubai in the UAE is touted to be shortlisted as the co-host along with Pakistan.
