New Delhi: India’s all-rounder Axar Patel and his wife Meha Patel welcomed a baby boy on December 24, Thursday. Axar announced the much-awaiting news on social media. Yesterday, India named Tanush Kotian as the replacement for Ravichandran Ashwin in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
After that several former Indian players stated Axar was ignored by Indian management as he hadn’t seen in Indian jersey for a long time. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma announced Axar wasn’t picked in the squad because of the birth of his first baby and now Axar is blessed with a baby boy.
“He’s still figuring out the off side from the leg, but we couldn’t wait to introduce him to all of you in blue. World, welcome Haksh Patel, India’s smallest, yet biggest fan, and the most special piece of our hearts.” Axar captioned on social media.
Axar and his wife announced the pregnancy in October 2024 in a heartwarming video on social media. Axar was last seen in an Indian jersey, when he was in squad for the two-match test series against Bangladesh. he didn’t get the opportunity to play in either of the matches.
Axar will be looking to get a place in the Indian squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. He played an important role in India winning the ICC T-20 World Cup 2024 and ended the drought of 11 years of ICC titles.
India fixture for Champions Trophy 2025 announced
ICC announced the fixture of Champions Trophy 2025 on December 24, Tuesday. Eight teams will be battling out to win the CT title. Teams are divided into two groups, India are placed in Group A with Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
All the matches will kick off at 2:30 pm IST and India will play all their matches in Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. Men in Blue will start their CT 2025 campaign on February 20, Thursday against Bangladesh.
