New Delhi: While he showed some composure and calmness in the 36-run knock he played on Friday, yet batting star Virat Kohli failed to display his magical skills yet again at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Kohli stayed patiently on the crease deflecting 86 deliveries but finally succumbed again at the most crucial juncture for the side.
For a batter of his stature, more was expected but Virat Kohli could not justice losing his calmness once again in the longest format of the game. India seem to be well positioned at 153/2, when youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal (82) unfortunately got run out. Jaiswal and Kohli had been able to steer India’s innings successfully with over a 100-run stand but as soon as Jaiswal got out, Kohli could not survive either, losing his wicket in the next over.
Kohli gets booed by MCG crowd
As soon as the star batter was walking back to the pavilion, he got booed by the spectators present at the iconic MCG stadium. This agitated the Indian batter and came back to confront the crowd with an angry look on his face. However, a security officer present at the spot calmed him down and advised him to go back. Kohli has faced the booing incident earlier also at the iconic stadium. In the year 2018, the batter was booed by the crowd for his altercation with Tim Paine.
