New Delhi: The fifth and final game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is moving quickly towards a result at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) as 26 wickets have fallen across two days of the Test match. Batters from both teams have found it extremely difficult to adjust to the seaming conditions at the SCG.

Team India bundled out for 185 runs in the first innings after opting to bat. Rishabh Pant (40), Ravindra Jadeja (26) and Jasprit Bumrah (22) made important contributions with the bat. Scott Boland took 4 wickets and Mitchell Starc picked up 3 wickets for the visitors while Pat Cummins also took 2 wickets.

The Australian batters also struggled to bat in the tough conditions and bowled out for 181 runs as the Men in Blue took a 4-run lead in the second innings. Debutant Beau Webster was the highest run-scorer for the Aussies, scoring 50 runs off 105 balls with the help of five boundaries.

For India, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj picked up 3 wickets each while Bumrah and Nitish Reddy took two wickets each. Prasidh and Nitish struggled with their line and lengths initially but did a fantastic job after Bumrah’s injury.

KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal stitched a 42-run partnership for the first wicket in the second innings. Both batters were looking to score big after getting a start but Scott Boland’s sensational spell helped Australia fight back. He picked up key wickets and dismissed Jaiswal, Rahul and Kohli.
