New Delhi: The first UFC event of 2025 will be headlined by two female fighters at the UFC Apex arena in Las Vegas on January 12, Sunday. Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Ribas will be battling out against each other in the main event of UFC Fight Night 249.
The fight will be in the strawweight division, Dern is sixth-ranked and Ribas is the eighth-ranked fighter in the strawweight division. Dern is coming from a victory against Loopy Godinez in August last year.
Meanwhile, Ribas is coming from a loss against top-ranked Rose Namajunas and will be looking to get back in the winning column. Ribas won the first meeting between both fighters but after that fight both fighters improved immensely.
In the co-main event, Santiago Ponzinibbio will take on Carlston Harris in the welterweight division. Both are coming from a loss and will be aiming to emerge victorious in the fight.
There are some fights on the card in which fighters from Dana White’s contender series graduates will make their debut in the UFC. Chris Curtis will be in action against Roman Kopylov in the middleweight division.
