New Delhi: In an attempt to replace their star Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Napoli are said to have bid €45 million for Alejandro Garnacho, a winger for Manchester United. Antonio Conte has identified Garnacho as a possible replacement for Kvaratskhelia, who seems to be nearing a move to Paris Saint-Germain after the coach acknowledged the winger’s wish to depart, according to SportItalia. The Italian team’s offer of €45 million (£38 million/$46 million) is less than what United is willing to pay for the Argentine.
Because he graduated from the club’s academy, they would want to receive £60 million ($73 million) for the Argentine, who would represent pure profit for the team under the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Garnacho has made 30 appearances this season across all competitions, tallying five assists and eight goals. He has also earned eight Argentina caps. Juventus are also interested in him; reports state that they have inquired about the winger. In the competition for the 20-year-old, it is unclear if they have any sort of edge over Napoli. He came to the team from the youth academy of Atletico Madrid in 2020.

Considering that Khvicha did have a massive role to play in that Napoli lineup, it will be difficult for the former Scudetto winners will have to bring in a quality winger who can provide them with the goals, assists and above all the versitility to play upfront and wider areas. Gernacho is a fine talent and it is fair why Manchester United have put up that sort of a price-tag. However, the Argentine international may not be worth that tag which has been given by the Red Devils.
With just four goal contributions to his name this season in the league, a €45 million move would make sense for the Italians. Napoli are also keeping a check on Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu, who can surprisingly play in a multiple positions that include both the wings upfront, as a left back and also as a left wingback. He might be a cheaper alternative, but it is still not clear if he would be the suitable replacement for the Georgian. With Napoli also being linked with Marcus Rashford, this move can also be a pretty solid one for the Italians as they would get the qualities of a Premier League proven forward. Another option that Antonio Conte is looking at is Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi for €40 million.
