Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho agrees personal terms with Napoli: Reports

New Delhi: Young Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has been linked with a move away from the Red Devils for the major part of the winter transfer window. Italian club Napoli have been continuously been linked with the Argentinian and it seems like the club have made some sort of a breakthrough in their efforts to land the 20-year-old.

Milan based Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera claims that the Naples-based club have reached an agreement on personal terms with Garnacho. The Manchester United academy product has been on Napoli’s radar throughout the window and they have earmarked the winger as their replacement for PSG-bound winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian winger has been an integral part for Napoli but is expected to depart the club in the coming days in a deal worth €70 million.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has maintained the Garnacho is an important player for the club and has recently started two successive games for the club under the Portuguese. He has kept Garnacho in the same regard as fellow youngster Amad Diallo, who has been Manchester United’s saviour this season and even rescued the club last night, with a hattrick against Southampton.

While they have reportedly agreed personal terms with Garnacho, the club are yet to reach a breakthrough with Manchester United for the sale of their academy player. The Argentinian is an academy product and his sale would represent pure profit for the club and with INEOS prioritizing making the club profitable, they might sell him for the right price. However, ESPN reported that the club have recently rejected a €50 million offer for the player from Napoli.

Napoli aren’t the only one interested in Alejandro Garnacho

Napoli have made their intentions clear that they are looking to buy Garnacho from United and have built a working relationship with the club in this season. They signed Scott McTominay from the Manchester based club in the summer and look to reunite him with his former teammate. However, they aren’t the only club interested in acquiring the services of Garnacho in this window.

Reports from both Sky Sports News and The Athletic state the fellow Premier League outfit Chelsea are also interested in getting Garnacho and have reportedly made inquiries for the player. The London club are looking for a goal scoring left sided winger following Mykhailo Mudryk’s potential suspension and have identified Alejandro Garnacho and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens as their targets.

Manchester United remain clear that the Argentine is not for sale but can be swayed with a big offer that matches their valuation of the player. Chelsea are looking at both 20-year-old wingers for the January window and having already taken Jadon Sancho off Manchester United’s hands in the summer, they can explore that option once again. Although, United would be more interested in selling the player abroad rather than to a Premier League rival, similar to the approach they’re taking with Marcus Rashford.

Manchester United’s young attacker has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Naples based side as he continues to be linked with a move away from the club in this window.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
