New Delhi: It is fair to say that cricketers have their personal favourite football clubs and players, whom they have been following since a young age. The same can be said for India’s mystery chinaman Kuldeep Yadav, who said that he has been a die hard Liverpool fan and started watching football back in the 2008/09 season. The Indian spinner said that he managed to balance his love for both, Cricket as well as Football. He was dedicated towards Cricket and always wanted to play professionally which eventually he did after years of training.
Today, he is being considered as one of the best leg-spinners in the world. However, talking about football, it seems like he has always had a special place in his heart for the beautiful game and he stated that despite being a Liverpool fan, he has always been a massive admirer of a Manchester United legend.

He had the opportunity to meet one of football’s greatest ever, David Bekham, and that’s where he revealed his admiration for Paul Scholes, who according to him was the best Manchester United player. He further talked about how important Paul Scholes was for Sir Alex Ferguson’s legendary Manchester United squad back in the day when the Red Devils were a true force in England as well as in Europe. He revealed this in a podcast with Zervaan Bunshah and Akshata Shukla, during the first episode of ‘The Desi PL Podcast’, where he was asked about his meet-up with David Bekham.
He said that he was nervous at first but had some great conversations with the legendary midfielder. The CWC winner showed great admiration for the game and identified one of the greatest ever midfielders to grace the Premier League as his favourite football player from Manchester United.
