New Delhi: The tickets for the much-anticipated India-Pakistan match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was sold out within minutes of being put on sale by the organisers. The International Cricket Council opened the ticket sale for all the 12 group stage matches scheduled in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
Unsurprisingly, the eyeballs for one game was for the India vs Pakistan, Group A match, scheduled on February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The burgeoning demand for the intense rivalry between the two teams has been at the larger scale than any other fixture of the tournament.
Online and Offline Ticket Sales Overwhelmed
The tickets sale was at peak both offline as well as online. Many users couldn’t grab the ticket and missed the chance of attending it from the venue.
“I anticipated a long queue, but the speed at which tickets vanished was shocking. By the time I secured my place, only two categories remained, both beyond my budget,” Sudhashree, a resident of Dubai, was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
There was nothing different for the online users with many left stranded outside the portal (official website of ICC) with more than 15,0000 buyers jumped in after it was open for public.

All India matches for the Champions Trophy will be played in the United Arab Emirates after the ICC decided to move their matches from Pakistan in response to the BCCI’s firm stand on not allowing its team to travel to their neighbouring nation. A similar provision will be seen for Pakistan cricket teams whenever India hosts an ICC event in future.
