There is freedom in the squad: Rohit

‘There is a bit of freedom in the squad to go out there and play the way you want. The World Cup (2023) was a perfect example of that. We want to continue to do that. There will be times it will not fall in place but that’s okay,’ said Rohit in the post-match presentation.

The Indian skipper also said that he was very happy that the team put up a collective effort and almost everyone in the side contributed towards the victory. Having said that, Rohit also admitted that they knew that there would be challenges they would have to face but they fortunately did not have to.

Without going into details, Rohit said that the team will be looking to further improve their game with the Champions Trophy beginning on February 19. He said that there are many things which he will not discuss at the moment but the key is to keep some consistency withing the squad and the communication remains clear. A champion team wants to get better every game and move forward from there, he added.
