New Delhi: Rohit Sharma-led India will be aiming to win their second ICC title in a row in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. The multi-nation tournament is all set to be played from February 19 to March 09 and will have the top eight teams in the world battling for the elusive title. Pakistan are the hosts of the tournament and the matches will be played across three venues in the country.
However, India will play all their matches at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai, UAE after BCCI’s decision to not send the Indian team to Pakistan for the tournament. The eight teams taking part in the tournament have been divided into two groups of four each. India are in Group A alongside Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand.
Group B consists of Australia, England, South Africa and Afghanistan. While three of India’s matches in Group A will be played in Dubai, the other group-stage matches will be held in Pakistan. Dubai will also host the first semi-final of the tournament on March 04 while Lahore will host the second semi-final on March 05.
If India reach the final, the summit clash will be played in Dubai, however, if India fail to make it to the final, the match will be played in Lahore on March 09. India will open their campaign against Bangladesh on Thursday, February 20 before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan in a blockbuster clash in Dubai on February 23.
