New Delhi: WWE is taking another step to support independent wrestling with the introduction of new WWE ID Championship titles. The company launched its WWE Independent Development (ID) program last year to identify and support rising talent from the independent circuit. Now, WWE has unveiled two new championship belts to recognise the top prospects competing under the ID system.
Triple H, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, shared the news on X, revealing the Men’s and Women’s WWE ID Championships. “The top independent wrestling prospects have been ID’d… and now, we’re ready to spotlight the best of the best,” he posted, alongside images of the new title belts.

The Men’s WWE ID Championship features a bold black strap with a large silver-plated centre plate, highlighting the WWE logo with gold-toned geometric patterns. The Women’s WWE ID Championship follows the same design but comes with a white strap. These belts will be contested across different independent promotions, allowing prospects to compete and prove themselves before advancing to higher WWE platforms.
The WWE ID program is designed to offer financial support, mentorship, and training to independent wrestlers. Several names, including Jack Cartwheel, Ice Williams, Marcus Mathers, and Sam Holloway, have already been identified as part of the initiative.
WWE ID’s official page has also detailed the format of WWE ID matches, which will take place in various independent promotions, with results feeding into the #WWEID universe. Strong performances in these matches could lead to opportunities on WWE EVOLVE, a platform dedicated to showcasing talent before they move on to NXT, SmackDown, or Raw.
With these new championships, WWE aims to bridge the gap between independent wrestling and its main roster, giving unsigned talents a direct path to recognition within the company. The WWE ID system continues to expand, and these new title belts signal WWE’s commitment to growing the next generation of stars.
