New Delhi: ‘Mystery spinner’ Varun Chakaravarthy’s maiden five-wicket haul on ICC Champions Trophy debut paved the way for India to top their group with a 44-run win over New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday.
New Zealand were dismantled for 205 in 45.3 overs, courtesy of Chakaravarthy’s 5/42 in chase of India’s 249/9 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
India finished their group stage assignments with a hat-trick of wins and now face Australia in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
