New Delhi: AC Milan suffer a massive blow as their veteran defender Kyle Walker will be out for a while after having surgery to repair a fractured elbow. The 34-year-old England international had surgery after suffering the injury during practice. After losing favour with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Walker headed to Milan in January on loan until the end of the season. He has made 12 appearances for the Rossoneri, who are in the Coppa Italia semi-finals while presently sitting ninth in Serie A, across all competitions.
Walker’s contract with Milan contains a buyout option for the right-back at the conclusion of his loan. After spending eight seasons at Manchester City, Walker joined Milan on loan back in January. Since then, he may not have the numbers but he has had his impact on the pitch with his experience and defensive abilities. However, this surgery might just keep him out for a while. This suggests that Emerson Royal might get his time on the pitch. Other options also involve the veteran Alessandro Florenzi with Calabria gone.

AC Milan’s curent situation
ACMilan find themselves in a rather difficult position as they sit ninth in the table, seven points off the European spot. Fair to say that this hasn’t been the season to cherish for the Rossoneri as it seems likely that they won’t be qualifying for any of the European competitions. The 2021/22 Scudetto winners were expecting much better than this, after their January transfer success.
After their recent 2-2 draw against Fiorentina where Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic managed to win them a point, they will be looking to get the job done against Udinese. It has been a season full of inconsistent results and big blows, and Sergio Conceicao will be under some pressure but he will need to find the solutions soon.
