New Delhi: Bangladesh would have thought what they did in Pakistan last month could be repeated in India the following month but they were proved wrong. India turned out to be too hot for the visiting side and proved that they are no Pakistan after an exemplary win in the rain-affected second Test match at Kanpur. India thus swept the series 2-0 on Tuesday, after clinching a win in the first Test at Chennai.
After some play on the first day of the five-day affair, both the teams had to sit out as continuous rain did not allow any play on the second and the third day at the Green Park stadium. The fourth day saw India come out on the field and dominate the proceedings, continuing the terrific efforts on the final day to pocked the match and the series.
All-round show by India
It was an all-round show from the hosts as both batters and bowlers stood up and delivered for the side to get them to one of their most special wins in the longest format of the game. Yashasvi Jaiswal was named as the Player of the Match for double half-centuries while Ravichandran Ashwin was declared Man of the Series for picking a total of 11 wickets in both the games.
As soon as India clinched the thrilling win in Kanpur Test, social media went into frenzy posting congratulatory messages for such an emphatic victory. People from the cricketing fraternity as well as the fans showered love and praise on the Rohit Sharma-led side for a memorable win in the Test match.
Jay Shah showers love
BCCI secretary and soon-to-be ICC chairman Jay Shah led the congratulatory messages, lauding the skipper Rohit Sharma’s efforts and Gautam Gambhir’s guidance. He also said that the pair will bring more laurels to the nation in the upcoming series’.
Great performance by team India as they completed the series win 2-0. All our bowlers, @ashwinravi99, @imjadeja, @Jaspritbumrah93 have put on an incredible show in restricting the Bangladesh batters. The intent and aggression of our batters from the word go defined the test… pic.twitter.com/V0mJIXtkYo

Only 35 overs were bowled across the first 3 days. To get a win in the next 2 days Ind had to dismiss Ban, declare with a lead, dismiss Ban again, then chase the target. They did it with half a day to spare! Stand up & applaud the greatness 👏🏻👏🏻 #INDvBAN pic.twitter.com/x9SCceu9cy
