Hyderabad: Praja Bhavan, the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and the place to register grievances by public, received a hoax bomb threat from a caller on Monday, Tv9 telugu reported.
The suspect in the phone call to the police control room issued a warning saying that the bomb would explode soon. Alerted by the threat call, police and bomb squad teams immediately reached and are carried out inspections.
Meanwhile, everyone working on the premises have been evacuated from the building. Police registered a case and is trying to trace the caller. It was later confirmed that it was the work of a hoax caller.
The building was previously called Pragathi Bhavan and served as the official residence of ex-CM K Chandrasekhar Rao. After Congress came into power in December, they removed the barriers placed outside the residence and opened it to the public for Prajavani. The public can approach the government with their grievances and register their complaints at Praja Bhavan.
