Mortal remains of Kuwait fire accident victims leave from Kochi airport to Tamil Nadu for final rites | Video |

Kochi: The mortal remains of those who died in the Kuwait fire accident arrived at Kochi International Airport on Friday, June 14. Both Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Tamil Nadu Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare Gingee KS Masthan and NRT Commissionerate officials paid homage to the mortal remains of the deceased. Relatives of the victims also pay tearful respects to the departed souls. The bodies of the deceased in Tamil Nadu will be taken to their native places shortly. The Tamil Nadu government has made all arrangements for this.

Meanwhile, The mortal remains of the Kuwait fire incident victims were handed over to the grieving families. The ambulances carrying their bodies left the airport to their homes for the last rites.

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan paid respects to the persons killed in the massive fire in a workers’ building in Mangaf block in Kuwait on June 12 here at the Kochi airport. The bodies of 23 persons from the state will be taken to their respective hometowns today.

Tamil Nadu and Kerala governments announced aid for the kins of Kuwait fire victims

A total of 7 persons from Tamil Nadu and around 23 persons from Kerala have been confirmed dead in the Kuwait fire accident. Both Kerala and TN governments have announced a solatium of Rs 5 lakh each to the kin of the victims. Malayali businessmen MA Yusufali and Mani Pillai have also informed Kerala government that they will donate Rs 5 lakh and Rs 2 lakh each respectively.

 Kuwait fire accident: The IAF aircraft carrying the mortal remains of 45 Indians killed in a devastating fire in Kuwait, reached Cochin International Airport, Kerala on Friday, June 14.
