New Delhi: Amid the rising military conflict between India and Pakistan, the top sporting icons of India have shown solidarity towards the country’s armed forces for their war against the terror outfits residing in Pakistan. The likes of Neeraj Chopra, PV Sindhu, and Rohit Sharma have all come out in strong support for the nation’s defence forces that demolished as many as nine terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan on May 7, in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack.

The immense support from the Indian sports fraternity came during and after the crucial Thursday night when the Indian Army swiftly thwarted Pakistan’s attempts to strike its military bases with drones and missiles. Pakistan has been responding to India’s retaliation since the night of May 7 and on Thursday, directed air raids at more than 15 places (including Jammu and Pathankot) in northern and western regions of the country near the border, only to be neutralised by India’s air-defence mechanism.

Tensions are soaring continuously between the two neighbours with each passing hour as fear of a larger conflict looms over the citizens of either side. At such a critical phase, the sporting icons of India have laid their faith in the Indian armed forces, which is a sign to their followers to stand united behind them in the current scenario and support the nation’s defence.

“With every passing moment, with every decision taken, I feel extremely proud of our Indian Army, Indian Air Force & Indian Navy. Our warriors are standing tall for our nation’s pride. It’s important for every Indian to be responsible and refrain from spreading or believing any fake news. Stay safe, everyone! #OperationSindoor #JaiHind,” Rohit wrote on “X” on Friday.

“We are proud of our Brave Indian Armed Forces who are fighting for our nation against Terrorism. Let’s do our part and make sure to follow guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety during this time,” two-time Olympic-medallist Chopra posted.

Ace shuttler PV Sindhu, who is a double Olympic medallist, also paid tribute to the Indian Army, highlighting their valour as the “soul” of the nation. “To the brave men and women of the Indian Armed Forces — your courage, discipline, and sacrifice are the soul of our nation. In moments like Operation Sindoor, we’re reminded of the silent strength and selfless service that keep our tricolour flying high. India stands with you. Jai Hind,” she posted.

India’s top sporting icons have come together to laud the Indian armed forces for their ongoing war on terror and thanking them for their selfless services that is keeping the peace of the nation intact.  Sports Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
