New Delhi: Actor Madhuri Dixit, just like other members of the film industry, expressed her solidarity with Rafah after heartbreaking pictures from Gaza city went viral on social media. However, she deleted the post ‘All Eyes On Rafah’ and was criticized for the same on social media.

The ‘All Eyes On Rafah’ social media campaign gained momentum after an Israeli airstrike triggered a fire, killing thousands of Palestinians in a camp in Rafah on Sunday, 26 May. Madhuri Dixit was among the list of celebrities who showed solidarity with Palestine after the airstrike. However, she deleted the post. Then, on Monday, 27 May, she shared a reel of herself in a pink lehenga and a user commented, “Posting and deleting because of what some people think is even more pathetic. Very disappointed.”

Another commented, “Ma’am you deleted post after facing backlash…”

One more user wrote, “Madhuri Dixit too deleted her propaganda story.”

Not only Madhuri but Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh also deleted the post ‘All Eyes On Rafah’ post hours after posting it. She too faced backlash on social media.

Meanwhile, celebs such as Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Richa Chadha, Sonam Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Atlee, Vir Das, Dia Mirza, Triptii Dimri, Shilpa Rao, Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh also showed their solidarity with Palestine.

What is All Eyes On Rafah?

All Eyes On Rafah is a phrase that refers to the ongoing genocide in Rafah. The social media campaign aims to draw attention to the southern city of Gaza Strip, where people have been forced to live in cramped camps with no humanitarian aid. The image shows tents at a camp arranged to form ‘ All Eyes on Rafah’, urging people not to turn blind eye to the situation in Rafah, where over a million people are seeking refugee after fleeing Isreali airstrikes.
