Cheer up RCB fans! Josh Hazlewood to return to India for IPL 2025 resumption – Reports

New Delhi: Amid the injury concerns that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were dealing with, there has emerged a ray of hope as their star pacer Josh Hazlewood is reportedly returning to India to wrap up his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 job. He was sidelined in RCB’s last game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3 with a shoulder niggle and was uncertain about the next clash before the tournament was immediately suspended for a week on May 9.

Word was around that it is highly unlikely that Hazlewood would come back for RCB now that IPL is set to resume, owing to the World Test Championship (WTC) final scheduled next month, in which Australia faces South Africa. He had returned home like several overseas players of the league, who were worried about their safety amid the tense and ongoing border conflict between India and Pakistan.

On Thursday, Hindustan Times journalist Vishesh Roy posted a tweet on his “X” handle, confirming Josh Hazlewood’s return to India for the remaining IPL 2025 showdown. This was followed by several media reports and a few claims from the fan pages as well, that Hazlewood has been spotted at the airport and is about to board the flight to India. Although the pictures that were shared were authentic or older is still unclear.

Hazlewood in IPL 2025

Hazlewood has been the key to RCB’s rampant run in the current IPL season, having picked 18 wickets in 10 games, and is third in the Purple Cap race. The reports of him coming back for RCB are surely going to cheer up the team and its fanbase, considering the match-winning abilities he possesses. The internet hasn’t been calm since these reports broke out, and a few are even sure that RCB is now well on course for their maiden IPL title triumph.

RCB has been one of the teams struck with injuries throughout the IPL 2025 campaign as their skipper Rajat Patidar sustained a finger injury in the CSK clash on May 3 and was set to miss the next few games as a result. Whether he will return for RCB in the May 17 tournament-resuming clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is still unclear. Despite all these setbacks, RCB hold on to the second spot in the points table with eight wins and three losses in 11 games.

Multiple reports have been doing the rounds claiming Josh Hazlewood has boarded the flight to India, to join back the RCB squad for the remainder of IPL 2025.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
