New Delhi: England have recalled Jamie Overton and Jacob Bethell for the first Test match against India as ECB named a 14-member squad on Thursday. The first Test of the five-match series begins on June 20 at Headingley, Leeds. Bethell makes a return after he did not feature in the win over Zimbabwe because of the IPL commitments.
Fast bowler Chris Woakes was also named in the squad for the opening Test match considering his major role in a big England win over India at the Lord’s during the 2018 series. Meanwhile, fast bowler Gus Atkinson is likely to miss out in the first two Test matches due to a hamstring injury he suffered against Zimbabwe.
