New Delhi: Star batter Virat Kohli, who recently celebrated Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title, is facing a complaint filed by an activist on Friday. It is in connection with the deadly stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during the franchise’s victory celebration, which left 11 people dead on Wednesday.

The complaint has been lodged by HM Venkatesh, a resident of Karnataka’s Shivamogga district, at the Cubbon Park police station of Bengaluru, which is in close proximity to the venue where the tragic incident occurred. The police, in response, said that the complaint will be considered under an already registered case and will be verified during the course of their investigation.

A day after RCB lifted their first IPL trophy on Tuesday, 11 people succumbed to death and over 50 others were injured in the stampede that occurred near the stadium, also the home of RCB, when a special felicitation ceremony was organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to pay tribute to the RCB players after the team won its maiden IPL cup after 18 years.
