Villupuram: On Monday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced by-election to Vikravandi Assembly constituency in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu on July 10. The result will be declared on July 13.
As the by-election election date was announced, the model code conduct will come into force in Vikravandi today. According to the by-election schedule, Filing of Nominations starts from June 14 – 21, Scrutiny of Nominations: on June 24, Withdrawal of Nominations on June 26, Polling will be on July 10, and counting on July 13.
Vikravandi assembly constituency fell vacant following the death of DMK MLA N Pugazhenthi (69) on April 5, this year. He passed away due to illness and he was the DMK’s Villupuram district (south) secretary.
