The Men in Blue beat Ireland by 8 wickets in their opening match of the group stage after that they defeated Pakistan by six runs. India defeated USA by 7 wickets while their last match against Canada was washed out due to the rain.

Rohit Sharma and Co. beat Afghanistan by 47 runs in their first Super 8 match after that they beat Bangladesh by 50 runs and Australia by 24 runs in their last two Super 8 matches. Team India defeated England by 68 runs in the semi-final and qualified for the T20 World Cup final.

The Indian players performed exceptionally well and made some important contributions to India’s winning run. Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah picked up crucial wickets at the start and in the death overs. Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel also stepped up in the middle overs and stopped the run-scoring and also took wickets to put pressure on the opposition. Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant have done well with the bat for India while Hardik Pandya’s all-round performance had a massive impact on the team’s performance.

Key Indian players to watch out for:

1) Rohit Sharma

The Indian captain is in sensational form and has provided explosive starts to the team in the powerplay. Rohit Sharma will be a crucial player for India in the final as the team will expect him to fire against the in-form South African bowlers. Rohit is in great form and smashed two back-to-back half-centuries. He scored 92 runs off 41 balls against Australia and against England, he scored 57 runs off 39 balls. The Indian skipper is currently the third-highest run-scorer of the tournament with 248 runs in 7 matches

2) Suryakumar Yadav

The no.2 T20I batter struggled in the initial matches of the tournament and received heavy criticism from the fans and experts but he turned things around and scored important runs for the team in the last few matches. Surya smashed 31 runs off 16 balls at a strike rate of 193.75 against Australia. He stitched a crucial partnership with Rohit in the semi-final against England while scoring 47 runs off 36 balls. He plays the spin very well and will be the key player in the middle overs to tackle Shamsi and Maharaj.

3) Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya made a great comeback in the T20 World Cup after a poor campaign in the IPL 2024. He received a lot of criticism and trolling during the IPL but has done a great job with the bat and ball for the Men in Blue. He picked up wickets in the powerplay and also scored important runs in the death overs for the team and will be a crucial player in the final.

4) Jasprit Bumrah

Indian team missed the services of Bumrah in the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final against England. But after his comeback, Bumrah has performed exceptionally well for the Men in Blue. He picked up 13 wickets in the 7 matches and has delivered match-winning performances against Pakistan and England.

His ability to pick wickets at the crucial stages of the match makes him a dangerous player and Rohit Sharma will heavily rely on him and Arshdeep for the wickets.

5) Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav didn’t get any chance to feature in India’s playing XI during the group stage of the T20 World Cup but he has done well for the team in the Super 8 stage and in the semi-final. He picked up 10 wickets in the 4 matches and dismissed many dangerous batters with his variations. Kuldeep will play an important role in tackling the likes of Klaasen, Miller and Markram in the middle overs.
