IMD forecasts heavy rain, thunderstorms in Telangana

Heavy rain is very likely to occur in many parts of the state over the next few days including in Adilabad,  Nizamabad, Jagtial, Siricilla, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Suryapet, Medak, Kamareddy,  Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet districts on July 9.

Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is very likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of Telangana over the next few days, India Meteorological Department said.

Light to moderate rain and thunderstorm with maximum surface speed less than 40 kmph is expected on July 8 in Medak, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu districts.

Generally cloudy sky and light to moderate rain and thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) may occur over the next five days in all six zones of Hyderabad, IMD said in its forecast. The city may see rain towards the evening on Monday, as per Independent weather forecasters.

Rain forecast for AP:

Heavy rain is likely at some places over North coastal AP, Yanam while thunderstorms with lightning, strong surface winds with speed upto 30-40 kmph is likely over South Coastal AP, Rayalaseema. Similar conditions are expected over the next few days.

Monsoon in July:

The IMD predicts that Telangana will receive normal to above normal rainfall in July.
