New Delhi: Team India defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Saturday. The Men in Blue led the five-match T20I series by 3-1. Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal stitched a 156-run partnership and took India over the line.
Jaiswal scored an unbeaten 93 runs off 53 balls, his explosive knock was laced with 13 boundaries and 2 maximums. Gill also scored an unbeaten 58 runs off 39 balls with the help of six boundaries and two maximums.
After the match, Jaiswal said that it was an incredible experience to share dressing with Virat and Rohit after what they have done for Indian cricket. Rohit and Virat announced their retirement from T20I cricket after winning the T20 World Cup in Barbados and Jaiswal said that he and Gill taking one day at a time after comparisons with two Indian stalwarts.
“I think what they have done for Indian cricket is just incredible and being a part of that dressing room is a blessing. We (him and Gill) are trying to take it match-by-match and one day at a time, focussing on the process” said Jaiswal in the post-match presentation.
He also said that Test cricket helps to read the game better and he also got a lot of experience after talking with Rohit and Virat.
“It does help to control emotions a lot and read the game better as there are different situations on the ground. And every time you talk to Rohit bhai or Virat bhaiyya, I get a lot of experience, enjoy talking to them and learning from them,” Jaiswal said.
India wins T20I series against Zimbabwe
The Men in Blue defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the fourth T20I. Indian bowlers restricted Zimbabwe to 152 after Shubman Gill opted to bowl first. Captain Sikandar Raza scored 46 runs off 28 balls with the help of two boundaries and three maximums. Marumani also contributed with the bat for Zimbabwe.
Khaleel Ahmed picked up two wickets and Tushar Deshpande, Washington Sundar, Abhishek Sharma, Shivam Dube also took one wicket each. Chasing the target, Jaiswal and Gill batted brilliantly and stitched 156-run partnership as India won the match by 10 wickets. The Men in Blue won the T20I series against Zimbabwe and will face Sikandar Raza and Co. in the fifth and last T20I on Sunday.
