Hyderabad: Moderate rain was seen in many parts of the city on Thursday morning as Hyderabadis woke up cloudy, hazy skies for the seventh day in a row.
Rain also lashed other parts of the state including Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Vikarabad, Rangareddy districts.
The India Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert and said that heavy rain is likely on Thursday in Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jagityal, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts.
Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is very likely to occur at some places in Jangaon, Kamareddy, Khammam, Mahbubabad, Mancherial, Medak, N. Malkajgiri, Mulugu, Nagar Kurnool, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sirisilla, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Suryapet, Vikarabad, Warangal, Hanmakonda and Bhuvanagiri districts.
Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be between 27 and 22 degrees Celsius respectively. Surface winds are likely to be westerlies, south-westerlies with wind speeds around 8-12 kmph.
Rain to continue in Andhra Pradesh:
Meanwhile, rain continued in the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh and will continue over the next three days, weather department said.
Heavy rain maybe seen in Eluru and Alluri Sitaramaraju districts on Thursday, due to which educational institutions in Alluri district are shut for the day.
Authorities have warned fishermen to not go fishing for the next three days as gusty winds with a speed of 45-65 km is likely along north coastal AP.
Lower tropospheric south westerly, westerly winds will prevail over AP and Yanam.
