‘Very special moment’: Harmanpreet Singh’s wife shares special message for Indian Hockey captain

New Delhi: Indian hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh’s wife shared a special for her husband ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024. In the recent episode of Hockey India’s podcast ‘Hockey Te Charcha Feat Familia’ Amandeep revealed how special the Paris Olympics will be for the family.

Amandeep said that she and their daughter will be there to support the Indian hockey team and also revealed how drag-flicker has prepared for the upcoming mega event.

She said that it’s going to be a special moment, especially for their daughter Ruhanat and everyone very excited for the highly anticipated mega-event.

“This is going to be a very special moment for us, especially for Ruhanat, as it’s her first time watching her dad play live on the field. We are all very excited…I never imagined that an athlete would come into my life, but here we are, married and with a daughter,” Amandeep said.

She also said that many small kids come to meet him and it’s heartwarming to see how the Indian captain motivates them.

“Many small kids come to meet him and seek his guidance. It’s heartwarming to see how he motivates them and how they look up to him as their idol,” Amandeep revealed.

Harmanpreet Singh has played a crucial role in India’s recent Hockey triumphs which include the win in the 2017 Asia Cup and the Champions Trophy titles in 2018 and 2023. He also made an important contribution to a historic bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics.

He took over India’s captaincy during the 2022-2023 season and led the team to a historic gold medal at the Asian Games last year.

India’s hockey schedule at the Paris Olympics 2024

India is placed in a difficult pool along with Australia, Belgium, Argentina, New Zealand and Ireland. The Indian hockey team will start its campaign on July 27 against New Zealand. After that, they will face Argentina on July 29, Ireland on July 30, Belgium on August 1 and Australia on August 2.
