New Delhi: The Indian men’s team has booked its place in the quarterfinal of the Paris Olympics on Thursday (July 25) after a third-place finish in the ranking round of men’s individual event held at the Esplanade des Invalides in Paris. The Indian archers started their campaign just a day before the official Paris Olympics takes place with the opening ceremony in the French capital.
After reeling at 24th spot at the halfway mark, Dhiraj Bommadevara made giant strides in the qualification round to finish at fourth place with a score of 681. India’s aggregate score was 2013 points after veteran archer Tarundeep Rai (674 points) and Pravin Jadhav (658 points) ended at 14th and 39th places, respectively, in the 64-man ranking round.
