New Delhi: As the video of Manu Bhaker’s mother, Sumedha Bhaker interacting with Indian javelin ace Neeraj Chopra had gone viral on the internet, fans were quick enough to speculate about Manu’s marriage with Neeraj, linking them up in every possible manner. But… a day after, Manu’s father Ram Kishan Bhaker broke his silence on the matter which might dishearten the fans who desperately wanted the rumours to come true.
The animated chat that Neeraj had with Manu’s mother forced the fans to flood the comment section of each post with “Rishta” comments. However, Mr. Bhaker has set the record straight. “My wife must have talked about sports with Neeraj… Manu is young and we are not thinking about her marriage,” Ram Kishan told Dainik Bhaskar.
Another video of two-time Olympic medal winner Neeraj conversing with Manu broke the internet. Both videos were of the same day in Paris, shot on the sidelines of the Paris 2024 closing ceremony. The videos amused the fans quite a lot.

Neeraj and Manu’s Paris performance
With the Paris Olympics 2024 coming to an end, India brought six medals home – three of which were bagged by Manu Bhaker and Neeraj Chopra. Manu scripted history in Paris as she became the first Indian to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympic Games. She won two bronze medals – in women’s 10m air pistol and in mixed team 10m air pistol each. Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra bagged a silver medal in the men’s javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics.
Neeraj and Manu hail from the Indian state of Haryana. While Neeraj belongs to the Panipat district, Manu comes from Jhajjar. Both were to represent India at the Paris Games closing ceremony but Chopra was later replaced by now-retired Indian hockey star PR Sreejesh upon request from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
