New Delhi: Undisputed Universal Champion Cody Rhodes showed up on this week’s WWE SmackDown to help Kevin Owens defend himself from a possible attack from A-Town Down Under. The two WWE Superstars had an interesting interaction after the whole brawl ended. Although both have been on the same page for quite a long time, they will be facing each other at Bash in Berlin this month for the coveted Undisputed WWE Championship.
For those unversed, Owens didn’t want the title shot at first because he thought he didn’t deserve it but gave in when insisted by The American Nightmare. On the latest SmackDown episode, Owens wrestled against Grayson Waller in a one-on-one match as he nailed him with a Stunner and followed it with a Pop-up Powerbomb to claim the match. But soon after the bout, A-Town Down Under surrounded The Prizefighter with steel chairs and that’s when Cody arrived to his rescue.
What happened next?
Cody showed up at the Kia Center in Orlando with his title and helped Owens fend off the villainous tag team. As soon as the attack ended, Owens was spotted holding a chair in the ring and looking at the WWE Champion who stood with a turned back to Owens. For a moment it looked as if Owens was going to hit him with the chair but he instead dropped it.

Owens then went on to pick the title and held it for a few seconds, only to hand it back to Cody. The Prizefighter notably brought back the Pop-up Powerbomb and it will be interesting to watch out whether all of this brawl will to his heel turn ahead of their mega title clash.
