The Brahma Kamal plant is considered significant in Hindu mythology. According to one belief, the Hindu God Brahma was said to have created the plant. Legend has it that Brahma meditated on a lotus flower, and while asleep, he transformed into a lotus himself. This flower henceforth became known as the Brahma Kamal.
