New Delhi: Tottenham welcome Everton in their first home game of the season and both teams will be looking to claiming their first three points of the season. Spurs were wasteful at times in their last game against Leicester City and were held to a 1-1 draw. Everton didn’t have the best start to their final season at Goodison Park as they lost their opening game 3-0 to Brighton.
Spurs had an excellent first half against Leicester but will be hoping for their strikers to be more clinical in front goal, with new signing Dominic Solanke squandering a lot of chances against the Foxes. Everton would want to put in a better display than they did at home against Brighton, where they didn’t keep hold of the ball a lot and could only manage to get a single shot on target.
Everton have just one win in their last 23 Premier League games against Spurs, with that being a 1-0 away win under Carlo Ancelotti and Sean Dyche would love to join the Italian on that list.
Team News
Manager Ange Postecoglu has confirmed that both Rodrigo Bentancur and Dominic Solanke will miss the game due to injury. Bentancur had a collision in the game against Leicester City and had to be stretchered off the game. Solanke is out of the game following an ankle problem which has been aggravated in the past few days. Yves Bissouma is expected to be in contention to start after being suspended for the Leicester game.
Premier League veteran Ashley Young is suspended for the trip to London after he picked up a red card in the previous game. Young’s suspension adds him to the list of unavailable players for Sean Dyche as Jarrad Branthwaite, Nathan Patterson and Seamus Coleman are all expected to be out for the game as well. While striker Youssef Chermiti suffered a long term injury in early August and isn’t expected to be back soon

Match Prediction
Everton were extremely poor in their game against Brighton and didn’t show a lot going forward as well. Going up against a well drilled Spurs side will be a tough challenge for them. Spurs had a good showing in their previous game but were let down by their finishing. Facing a down on their luck Everton side in their first game at home, it presents a good opportunity for Spurs to put in a good performance for their fans, which is why this should be an easy win for the home side.
