Suryakumar Yadav passes on birthday wishes to Rajkummar Rao with brilliant ‘Stree’ reference

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao celebrates his 40th birthday on Saturday which comes well during the aura of “Stree 2” – a horror comedy starring Rao in the lead role. Rao is well known for his love of cricket and has been seen on the stands during several India and IPL matches in the country. He seems to be a good friend of swashbuckling Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav, who grabbed the opportunity to wish him a happy birthday.

Suryakumar, known for his flamboyant and fun demeanour, took to his Instagram account and posted a story for Rao, passing him birthday wishes but with a twist. It wasn’t just a simple “Happy Birthday” or an “hbd” like many other cricket and Bollywood personalities. Suryakumar had a piece of himself in the wish as he took the reference from the superhit franchise and wrote – “Janamdin Mubarak ho bhai. Bickkyyyy pleaaasssjjjeeee. Gaon ka rakhwala (Happy Birthday brother. Bickkyyyy pleaaasssjjjeeee. Saviour of the village).”

‘Stree wave’

“Vicky please” is a well-known dialog from the two “Stree” films centered on Rao’s character named “Vicky”. Stree was released in 2018 and has since been a pathbreaker in the horror-comedy genre for India. It was followed by a sequel comprising a similar cast and it became an instant box-office hit. Released on August 14, 2024, the movie is still going strong in the metros and even in the tier 2 and 3 cities.

Stree 2 has brought a wave in the history of Indian cinema and has successfully revived the dull box office collections India saw in the past months with commercially and critically failed films. Seems like Suryakumar Yadav became a part of the huge fan following the genre has generated over the years as he shared a snap of Rao’s character on his story to wish him for his birthday.

Rao’s love for cricket can be seen in a few of his movies like Kai Po Che! (2013) and the recently released Mr. & Mrs. Mahi which was a moderate hit at the box office, and praised by critics as well.

As Rajkummar Rao turned 40 on Saturday, Suryakumar Yadav wished the “Stree” fame with a brilliant reference from the Bollywood blockbuster.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
