New Delhi: UP Yoddhas made their debut in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in 2017 and they have made a strong case for the PKL time every time except last season in the PKL. Yoddhas reached the playoffs five out of six seasons but they couldn’t win the PKL trophy ever.
Yoddhas had a disappointing previous season as they finished in 11th position and won just four matches out of 22 matches. They released their star raider Pardeep Narwal ahead of the PKL auction 2024. They had a handy purse going into the auction and made some expensive purchases in the auction.
3 most expensive player for UP Yoddhas
Bharat Hooda
The most expensive buy for Yoddhas was Bharat Hooda, they bought him for a whopping price of Rs. 1.3 crores. They went for some big names in the auction like Mohammed Shadloui and Maninder Singh but they ended up buying Hooda. Hooda came into the spotlight when he was a part of the Bengaluru Bulls in his debut season. But his previous season didn’t go well as he just scored 109 raid points with 47% raid points. Hooda will look to improve his performance with his new team.
Bhavani Rajput
The youngster Bhavani Rajput was sold for Rs. 45 lakhs for Yoddhas. Bhavani was a part of Jaipur Pink Panthers and his best performance came last year as he scored 65 points in just 20 matches. Bhavani just played four PKL seasons and it will be a huge task for Bhavani to justify his price tag in PKL 2024.
Sahul Kumar
Another former Jaipur Pink Panther player was bought by the Yoddhas franchise. Sahul Kumar was picked by Yoddhas for Rs. 30 lakhs in the auction. The right-corner defender played 21 matches for the Panthers last season and he is called the future of Indian defense in Kabaddi. He didn’t have a great previous season but his team managed to play playoffs in PKL 2023.
The Lucknow-based franchise has performed well since its debut in PKL in 2017. Let’s take a look at their most expensive buys from PKL auction 2024. Kabaddi Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
